Executive Team
Bill Brewer, Executive Director – Bill was born and raised in Mount Holly, New Jersey. After graduating from Rancocas Valley Regional High School, he graduated with a B.S. degree in Economics from Lambuth College (now University) in 1972. After working with Retail Credit Company for 5 years, he joined MHDS in October of 1977. Over the years he has worked in and supervised almost all aspects of the Agency. He became Executive Director of the Agency in November of 2006.
Bill is married to Denice who works at the Bank of Jackson. He has two sets of step-children and three grandchildren. Bill is a member of Northside United Methodist Church. He is a long time member of the Jackson Rotary club and is a Paul Harris fellow, Past President and has been voted New Rotarian of the year and Rotarian of the year. He spends as much time as he can with his favorite niece and nephew, Kendall and Walker, enjoys all sports and is an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Tennessee Titans fan. He also tries to play golf!
Christy Cochran, Assistant Executive Director—Christy started her career with MHDS, Inc. in 1996. Christy is a graduate of Union University with a degree in Psychology and Sociology. In 2001, Christy left MHDS, Inc. to pursue another career, and then returned to MHDS, Inc. in 2004. Christy has held many positions in her time at MHDS, Inc. including a Vocational Trainer, Case Manager, Program Coordinator, Program Supervisor, and Bolivar Site Director. Christy worked as an Adjunct Instructor for Jackson State Community College for 5 years, teaching courses in Residential Home Management.
Debbie Jeanes, Business Management Director— Debbie started her career with MHDS, Inc. in 1978. Debbie is a graduate of Lambuth University with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. Debbie has held many positions in her time at MHDS, Inc. including Executive Secretary, Administrative Assistant, Office Manager, Business Manager, and Senior Accountant. Debbie provides a strong knowledge of the agency and its history through her longevity of employment.
Susie Hudson, Day Services Director—Susie was born and raised in West TN. She currently resides in Sidonnia, TN in Weakley County with her husband Danny. Susie began her career in the Mental Retardation field in 1973 working at Mark Twain Association for Retarded Citizens in Hannibal, MO. Susie later moved back to TN and was the Assistant Director for CDS in Martin, TN for 14 years. In 1989 Susie began her employment with Madison-Haywood Developmental Services. Susie has served the agency in many different capacities.
Allen Dunn, Fleet and Facilities Director— Allen has been employed with MHDS since 2000. He graduated from the University of South Florida, Tampa, with a degree in business administration. During his career Allen has worked for several non-profit organizations in Florida, Louisiana, and Tennessee as well as owning/managing a small mailing and shipping business for eight years. His wife, Carol, is from Jackson and they have one daughter, Anna. Allen enjoys spending time with family and friends and the opportunities for service through his church, West Jackson Baptist.
Rance Thetford, Sales and Marketing Director— Rance is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in Business Administration. Rance started with MHDS in April of 2000 as the Workshop Operations Manager in our Jackson facility. In 2006 Rance was promoted to the Sales and Marketing Director for the agency and is responsible for procuring contract work for the individuals we serve in our production facilities. Rance is a member of the Jackson Exchange Club which helps to provide assistance to the Exchange Club/Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. Rance also serves as a member of the Medina Parks and Recreation Board, and Vice President of Softball in the Medina Baseball/Softball Association.
Ken Hall, Compliance Director— Ken is a graduate of Bethel College with a degree in Social Science. Ken has worked for MHDS since 1990. Ken has been involved with the field of developmental disabilities since 1977. Since joining MHDS he has served as a Vocational Trainer, Case Manager, Vocational Evaluator, Vocational Services Supervisor, Rest Area Supervisor, Case Management Supervisor, Program Supervisor, and Compliance Director.
Alvin Tousant, Residential Services Director— Alvin started his career with MHDS, Inc. in 1987. Alvin is a graduate of Lane College with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Education. Alvin has held previous management positions with other firms including AVCO Finance, RGIS Inventory as well as Director of the Student Loan Program at Lane College. Alvin then came to work at MHDS, Inc. as a Vocational Trainer and three months later was promoted to the Director of the Residential Program, a position he has held for twenty one years. Alvin is married to Jacqueline, has two sons and one grandson.
Nancy Riggs, Human Resource Director—Nancy joined MHDS in the fall of 2006. Nancy came to the agency with over 20 years of Human Resource Management experience. Nancy has an extensive knowledge base of Human Resources, FMLA, and provides strong and objective support to the employees of MHDS, Inc. Nancy is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the West TN Medical Advisory Council. Nancy is married to husband David, and has two wonderful children and 2 grandchildren.
