MHDS, Inc. Strategic Plan
In 2008, the Executive body of MHDS, Inc. completed a Strategic Planning Session through a local company, Strategic Excellence. As a result of this Strategic Planning, agency goals were developed and plans set forth to implement and attain these goals. The topic goals for the agency are listed below. MHDS, Inc. strives to be a leader and competitor in the field of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, and provide exemplary services to each client and their family.
Planning Goals
- Set Leadership Team Meeting Processes.
- Complete Job Description Manual.
- Complete and Update Employee Handbook.
- Develop a feedback and evaluation system.
- Develop Key Operating Indicators (KOI’s) to reflect the health of the organization.
- Develop a process for mass/general communications.
- Develop a process for regular communication with Day Staff.
- Centralize and standardize the screening, interview, and hiring process.
- Develop an Employee Orientation Process to insure all new hires are fully aware of their roles and responsibilities.
- Review and modify the supervisory structure for residential homes.
Critical Issues that the organization will focus on in the future include:
- Training, Hiring, and Staff Development/Retention
- New or upgraded Day Facilities in Bolivar and Jackson
- Develop departmental budgets
- Evaluate innovative fundraising ideas
- Re-examine Pay Structure and Job Descriptions
- Focus on community relations, update website, community outreach
